Understood but since L-R are about to increase the torque of the SDV6 engine by 100 lbft for the 2016 model year and retain the same ZF gearbox, I take it I won't have a transmission problem anyway! |

I was giving an example. Ok, imagine for a second you blow a turbo then... Regardless of what we may or may not offer in future, the fact remains that this particular example isn't to the spec it was built, is all. It's your car, you decide what you wish to do. |

But the computer will still log a programming date, very conveniently, the same day it blew up. That will start alarm bells ringing, and they will delve further... I believe (and Dave may be able to confirm) that there are ways to tell if an engine has been mapped, by stripping the engine/gearbox... |

Try looking at it from the other side of the fence. Imagine you're a manufacturer who a dealer calls and says he has a customer who has presented a relatively new car with an unexpected failure mode. Are you just going to front up the parts and labour, possibly a new power unit to boot, or would you kinda take a look first?
