Check that the spare wheel winch is in good condition too. If the spare was stolen then the winch might have been left in a broken state - the wheel is stolen by cutting the winch cable. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi , just replaced the winch ( no problem easy job ) and got my eye on a space saver wheel with tyre 175/80/19 advertised as a replacement for my car . Just want to ask the experts first ( you guys ) so as I don't cause a prob with the diff if I ever have to use it to get home , thanks |

If you have an alloy wheel as a spare it isn't the original spare. They come with a black steel wheel of a 5 spoke design and are 19". If you fit a 20" normal wheel it becomes too visible below the bumper. I will have a look tomorrow and get you tyre size. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Mine came like that when I bought it, now you mention it you can see a bit of the wheel but I can't say I noticed it before. Either way ALFIE I would search the forum for wheel protector i got one from RLD he's a site supporter and its a great bit of kit. |

The 19 inch black wheel I have my eye on is original spare wheel but from a 2012 sport , is this ok to put on my 2008 tdv8 hse ,tyre size on the spare is 175/80/19 I assume it will fit as I've referred to the landrover spec list for my car which states the spare is a 19/8 space saver wheel . no need to apologise to me beancounter , I'm not the one who stole it , I'm a victim aswell ! The person who is selling is a landrover specialist , I have no idea how he sourced it or his entire stock ! |

The steel space saver spare is a 5.5Jx19 with T175/80/19 tyre. I think this size wheel is also available in alloy. The black-painted alloy spare is 8Jx19 with 255/5019 tyre. Both are limited to 50mph. I have the 8Jx19 spare with Grabber AT fitted but keep thinking of getting a 19 alloy to match my normal wheels. Makes more sense to be able to run the spare at full speed. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
