What happens exactly? What speeds or rev range does the noise occur? High speed? Is the sound still there when you drop it in to nuetral whilst travelling at the speed you can hear it at? |

no mate doest jump into nutural or turn off sum times is slightly clunky on gear changes. ive only realy got worried since this noise i have the tdv8 and it is louder than the engine when it happens. i have bought gearbox oil to do a flush to see if that helps but if its the transfur box im looking at big££ |

Seriously. I found doing the work myself quite easy. Was the rear output bearing to the rear prop shaft. Never attemted one before. Took me approx 9 hours over a few nights.

First of all sounded like wheel bearing whine, but after more driving it started to get louder.

I'd always start by draining the oil and re-filling. Check the oil to see if it's burnt or otherwise degraded. Bodsys Brake Bible

Josh I think Welder mans onto something. I've seen posts of people changing diffs etc and it never aolved the problem. If you change all oils and and it doesnt work I think Welder Mans bearing thing might be onto a winner as he mentions its just on light acceleration. I thought diffs made the noise on overrun too? Maybe wrong. |
