so as in my last post battery light came on and off a couple of times then stayed on ,i turned off car and tried to start it again ,it fired up without hesitation,about an hour later i tried to open the car and it was dead,ive opened the passeenger door and put key in ign but its all completly dead.seems strange as when i rstarted it there was loads of life in battery and i had a new battery fitted a couple of weeks ago (vatra one) any ideas on issue? tdv8

Have you checked to see if all connections are tight Also check connections on your alternator.

ill have a look tomorow ,it scares the life out of me when i lift the bonnet ,as im convinced ill make it worse
im fine removing and replaacing the motor and gearbox in my 1960 vw bug but under the bonnet of a rangerover is another ballgame  tdv8

well its in the rangerover hospital ,suspected alternator fail but will know more tomorrow ill let you know the results when its fixed  tdv8

yep new alternator picking it up in the morning so happy days  tdv8

havent had the bill yet but was told itll be the best part of 700 with the vat tdv8 is a pain in the ass compared to tdv6 ..... but when its working the tdv8 is awesome cant wait to get it back  tdv8
