Envoy ...This morning I had a little knock of my A and B pillars..

They look so smart and solid covered in Alston Alcantara... but yep underneath it sure sounds like cheap thin Tata plastic..

Giving JLR the benefit of the doubt on this one , lets say it's for weight saving...

It really is fuelling my doubts over quality and cost saving....

I don't mind that is it's not the thing you would need to be solid. The new Sport is nearly half-a-tonne lighter than the previous. Where it becomes an issue is if it squeaks.

Andman Yours must be different to mine as my lower panels are a brown hard plastic and not covered with any sort of material, maybe they changed it on the later models! Feels and looks cheap and nasty to me! some of my Previous cars

I'm pretty sure it's only the AB models that are fully leather on the RRS2. Even on the L405, it is only Autobiography models which have full leather trim. The Vogue and Vogue SE only have leather dashboards - the doors etc are leather-look.

Can only comment on mine which is AB and it's definitely leather as I can see the natural blemishes ...

mine is an 15MY AB and the lower A and B posts are not leather they are cheap nasty plastic, are the earlier ones leather clad? some of my Previous cars

Envoy ... all getting a little confused here...

I think TDV8 was referring to the door tops and dashboard top roll being leather on the AB

With regard to the A and B posts .... The lower part of my B posts are cheap and nasty plastic...

The A posts... Well they are Alston covered.. there is a little plastic bit below but it's not significant ..

Can't see that JLR would have made any changes and if they did it would of been in the press release... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Our AB has leather on areas 3,5,7,8,9 and 10 to add to the above list.

The bits that you interface with, shall we say should feel tactile. If it is just something covering the seat belt shall we, then I am ok if it is NCP.

Gone my10 3.0 tdv6 Bali blue/ivory 5 years 24k no problems great car will be missed
