Ready for the cold

Finally got round to fitting the pre heater controller so will hopefully go out to nice warm car during the winter. It's Bellauto's latest one that you can turn on the the L/R button on the remote.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Now why didn't LR do that. Instead I have to have a separate remote which bangs on dash when key in ignition 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

I've got one of the controllers with the wire to allow the use of the L/R button but have only installed it to use the plip remote. Where do you run the additional wire to? I spoke to Pete and he mentioned something to do with the lights but as I was expecting to use the plip remote I didn't get any details from him at the time.

Have to say that the BAS controller is a nice easy install; ironically, since I fitted it, the weather hasn't been that cold...! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Run it down to the headlight and connect to the wire that goes to pin 11 on the headlight connector its the same colour as the wire from the controller blue/pink I think. Then programme the remote to operate the headlight curtesy delay 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

My controller box just sits in the battery box between the battery and the box wall. The positive wire connects to the battery wire that connects to the megafuse. The earth is just on one of the body earth studs next to the heater.

Here is a picture from a Disco3 user's (Robbie) installation:

Mine is the same but has the controller in front of the BJB rather than the battery itself. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yes fitted an inline fuse with 1amp fuse, you have to use a glass fuse and holder as the spade fuses only go down to 2amp. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

you need a fuse, it's an electrical circuit, it makes no difference where the component is located.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Hmm, I just followed the instructions that came with it. No mention of fuses being required, what rating, where they should go or how. Just a pair of ring connectors for the +ve and earth connections. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Must have missed that Embarassed . Seems a bit odd not supplying a fuse / fuse holder in the wiring if it's required.

That means I shall have to source and fit a fuse now... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
