Vibration on start up.

Not being used to large Diesel engines I'm hoping this is normal - from cold on start up the Sport seems to shake as if its travelling the from the engine bay back through the cockpit - not excessively but enough to notice Sad it's fine after that no issues or vibrations on restart. Rolling Eyes

As always thanks in advance Bow down 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Sounds like a misfire at cold which points to a weak heater plug. Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I had this in Jan/Feb and on a couple of occasions the car refused to start, brake pedal became rock hard. When it did start, it vibrated a bit but was fine on subsequent starts of the same day, just as you described. Mrs. called LR Assist the first morning it didn't start and the guy forced the brake pedal down enough to be able to start it. He suggested we do the same if the problem reoccurs ( it was beyond her strength though Laughing ). Next time it happened to me and I was able to start by pressing brake pedal really hard but was convinced it wasn't normal. Plugged in my IIDTool to find a problem with glow plug control module (so same area as simple1 suggested). First instance of the fault was recorded at < 300km old i.e. way before I bought the car. Called LR Assist again, he acknowledged the problem, car booked, glow plug control module replaced under warranty and no starting problems since then (even in much colder than UK weather). Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
