No difference in cost. The only thing against the fixed pano roof is that I'm not sure there are blinds. Does anyone know?

I was told it would have blinds, same as the evoque.

I have decided not to wait for the sliding roof. When my order was submitted i was told mid march delivery but he will be keeping me updated.

Still no option to order a tracker. Possibly a dealer fit when it arrives if not i will sort it myself. 2012 Evoque

2015 SVR for the fun stuff
2016 Evoque SI4 Dynamic Lux for the daily drive

I and my dealer have asked a few people at the factory and elsewhere about the roof, and no one is aware of any roof issue.

I wonder how the horses will react to being towed by an SVR with the taps open... I can just imagine to the tow hitch being torn off the front of the horse-box... Mark

Spoke to my dealer, my order has apparently been allocated a build slot but there is no date against it, so no help really!

The dealer doesn't think any will be produced before March in spite of the Job 1 Date of 12th January which seems as if it's going to be missed. LR said Q1, so you can imagine the first car being coaxed down the line on March 31st to keep to their plan.

As always, there's a lack of information, much beating around the bush and confusion reigns. Mark

I've sent you a PM with my understanding and thoughts on this process.

Thanks Phil. It's not a very encouraging situation, especially if there's a crowd of minor celebrities clamouring for attention. "I want my new Range Rover and I want it NOW!". Sadly, it's not in my gift to get the car featured on a multiple page spread of Hello! magazine so I naturally get put in my place and have to wait my turn.

I remain optimistic even so but it's more hope than expectation. Mark

I know only a few things concerning my order. There is much that I'm trying to understand.

I'm retired now but if I had treated customers spending £100k+ in the way LR are treating me/us, I would have been out of business. Mark

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

I doubt very much that HSE versions cannot be ordered with the sliding roof. Unless there are supply issues, why would LR shut that door to many prospective clients?
In my opinion, many salespeople are shunted from dealership to dealership within the group and possess a limited knowledge of the vehicles they are trying to sell. So, you get a person who was been flogging Micras or whatever, where the customer is not particularly savvy then ensconsced in a LR showroom, and meeting potential buyers who are quite likely more knowledgeable ref the car than he or she is.
3 weeks ago I placed a deposit on a new AB and the salesperson assured me that the sliding roof was extra, until I corrected this.

It really is not rocket science understanding the limited models and the specifications. What are they? Defender, Freelander, Evoque, D4, Sport, FFRR and incoming Disco sport. There are salespeople out there representing companies who have several thousand products who have to earn a living. Car salesmen have it pretty easy I guess.

LR should train their sales staff accordingly, in that they are dealing with people spending substantial money, and who, in many cases, are fairly, or very aware, of the product - certainly more than some of their sales staff!
