Couple of miles from home my RRS 2 loses power, smoke from the front, loud whistling metallic sound . Just happened as I accelerated fairly sharply. Presume it's either the turbo hose, or the turbo. It's only done 11k, and serviced a few weeks ago, and then went in for recall work.
Land Rover Assistance called but doesn't seem they have a technician free till tomorrow morning.

Just rechecked car....still a very noisy whistling/air intake sound, but no error messages, no warning triangle, but rev counter uneven . Last error message on the service menu just shows volumetric sensor warning from a while back.

In the last recall, an aircon hose was replaced, so maybe there's a coincidence here....did the dealer have to take off the turbo/s hose/s to effect this, I wonder!

On my RRS1 there were no error messages / lights on either occasion of turbo failure...hopefully yours isn't that serious but the first time mine blew was not long after a service. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Turbo hose blown off, clip not tightened enough. Should be back on the road shortly !

Thanks for the comments. All fine today. Will call the service dept to inform them what happened. I don't know if LR Assist feed this back to them, but I will! Too much of a coincidence that 2 weeks ago they replace an 'aircon' hose and then a hundred miles later this hose blows off! Incidentally the guy from LRA said the turbo hose was now called a C.A.C hose with the A being air, but can't remember what the rest is! I guess it's the hose that was replaced...
Report says CAC hose disconnected at metal resonator end.

Charge Air Cooler?
