Which wrap for the interior trims

Hi all,

I've had my RRS for a week now. Love it to bits but the interior is a bit dull. Its all black but the trim is silver. I want to wrap them so I brought the following: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261148278465?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261075434816?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

Not sure if the brushed effect will make much difference.

Can I get some inspiration from you guys please?

How do you take the inside door handles off?

Hi there, having just wrapped my interior door trims and centre hockey sticks id say go with carbon. You may find it's a bit more forgiving then trying to keep brushed steel effect perfect.

There is plenty of stuff on YouTube for doing the RRS interior.

Either way make sure you change your interior land rover badges to black if they aren't already.

I did my radio/cd fascia in carbon wrap it should give you some idea, I painted the hockey sticks and door handles black along with the air vents. Not everybody's cup of tea but I thought the radio/cd fascia looked a tad dull.........and when I get tired of the carbon I can always remove it.

Did you use a template for radio?

No template James, just pulled the radio knobs off and placed the wrap over the whole fascia. I used a hairdrier to soften the wrap a little and let it mould to the fascia, smoothed it out and then used a sharp blade to cut around the various switches, CD insert and the screen. A bit fiddly working in the confines of the car.....took about half an hour. Thumbs Up 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 Autobiography - Stornoway Grey

I don't think the brushed steel will make a huge difference to what you already have mate. The carbon will be a contrast to the black interior you have but in my opinion will make the interior VERY dark indeed, if that is what your after then go for the carbon. Maybe a carbon that is lighter than what you have chosen would be a better shout? Thumbs Up 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 Autobiography - Stornoway Grey

Thanks mad_dafty

I'm thinking of wrapping the top bit highlighted in carbon and the handle in grey ( it's actually very similar to the painted trim)

Might do the hockey sticks in Grey and maybe do radio bit in carbon like mad_dafty?

What do you guys think?

Also - what about adding a black/red badge?

Any pictures?

Hi guys,

Just wrapped the pieces. Looks great but I have a problem...

My door locks are nit working properly. Is there a guide to put this trim back on properly?

Unfortunately the plastic on the cable has come off. How do I put it back?

you mean you have one sheet over the three sections of the dash?
if so, very impressive. i was thinking to remove each panel and wrap them individually but that is not 30min job!

how did you tuck the edges in to make sure they stuck down firmly? 07 TDV8 + BAS map

Yes mate, one sheet over the three sections of the dash. I had just painted my air filters, door pulls and hockey sticks a few days before. After all the wrestling to remove trim, lost clips and general faffing abou involved in the painting I just couldn't handle more of the same with the radio/CD fascia If I had went down the remove route.

If my wrap had been a gloss black or some other plain colour with no design I may have divided it into the three sections to make it a little easier. With it being Carbon I wanted to make sure the lines in the carbon design ran as true as possible so decided to do it using just one sheet. I used the blunt edge of a knife for some of the edges and ran my thumb nail along some of the other edges to secure them down. It's been on the car for a month or so now and has stuck down well. Making sure the units are really clean and dust and grime free is a must. Thumbs Up 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 Autobiography - Stornoway Grey

Hi all,

Thinking again about the brushed aluminium....

Kinda like the look of this.

What colour would you call this?

Silver gloss?
