I'm looking at buying an RRS and wondering if anyone has any advice. I don't do many miles a year (12k max) as have a work van and work away from home most of the week. Originally I was looking for a tdv6 but now I'm maybe think about the 4.2 supercharged as the price seem a lot lower. I'm also considering the tdv8 I would appreciate any advise on the 3 engine reliability, running cost, service cost and anything anyone else can think of.

Average MPH on Petrol 15mpg at best around town - with that figure you can work out fuel cost for the year 4.54 litres a gallon - 12k average mileage - £1.25 per litre unleaded x 4.54 = £5.67 per gallon. You would need 800 gallons of fuel = £4536

That's £87 per week

£400 service - that's at an independent - road tax -£280 ish pre March 2006 - £480 ish after.

You need at least £100 a week for fuel - service - road tax & then a decent warranty is a must

Can anyone recommend a warranty company that are not just out to rip you off. Seem like I need to cover my ass buying sport 😖 lol

Hi, I am with warranty direct and not had to use them so far touch wood,but they would not cover the suspension air compressor with my range rover sport but have heard others on here have that item covered, just try to haggle with them to get that covered as i will be doing on my renewal date

was the average price on the warranty I got a quote earlier on a tdv8 with 97k on. They are looking at £900 a year. Does that sound normal?

hi alex,i paid £720 for my warranty with W.D..as other have said ,not cheap,i've spent just over 2k over 4 months and still got things to do!
