Stoplock

Does anyone know if the regular "Stoplock Original Car Steering Wheel Lock" fits an RRS steering wheel? The 4x4 version looks more for Land Cruisers!

Happy days, thanks Viper, I'm going to get one of these. I've already had 2 issues in the past year (break in through sunroof and also stolen number plates) so I'll be darned if I'll let these scrotes Xerox a copy of my keyless credentials and waft off into the sunset. I just hope I don't have any insurance hassles on renewal. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Yes, I've decided not to get this too following further analysis. I mean, if they want my car enough to use £5,000 worth of electronics to clone a key then I'm sure they would know how to whip off the Stoplock... yet day to day use of it is a pain in the doo dah. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... They're willing to fork out £5k for the tool to program a key and can remove the steering lock as quick as the owner so not sure it will really put them off Confused

We need decent alarm system loud enough to be heard, protect the OBD port and make sure it's double locked without using remote key would be a start Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Hi ilard, if you're after a lock it would be worth getting a disklok. Like you said it's bit of a pain to keep using one and its bulky but a good deterrent, you'll need to measure the steering wheel I think it's a medium that fits. But I agree I wouldn't waste my money on a stoplock

I have heard the disklock can damage the steering wheel - does anyone have any information regarding this Question

Considering one of these but not if it causes damage Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I use a disk lock on my Focus RS. It can leave indentations on the leather but they pop out in no time. You can buy a steering wheel cover to stop that, or just use a pillow case.
I will get one for the sport when I get round to measuring the steering wheel. IMO one of the best deterrants out there

you say 5grands worth of kit but is it really, when I worked in a main dealers for a well known ( Censored ) French car manufacturer the tool for diagnosis, coding ect was called clip, it was a pretty basic OBD2 to USB adaptor on a very basic laptop they even had on connected to a old hand held tablet, the software was usually on discs in the bottom of the trolly.
With this in mind and the amount of people that are in them workshops all day it makes you wonder why this problem isn't more common. on reflection who would pinch a French car

Same here. Its bit of a pain but if it deters them it's worth it.

I use it on my Defender all the time, and am now thinking of one for the Sport. I am concerned about them damaging the steering wheel...

LR did a tweet about some crap or other...I tweeted back str8 away saying they should concentrate on sorting out their vehicles and this issue in particular. Within seconds they tweeted back saying the LR would be in contact with me to discuss the issue. That was three weeks ago....of course that is the last I have heard!!
