ebc yellowstuff over brembo

seen recommendation on this forum for EBC yellowstuff as an 'upgrade' from oem.

looking into it, found a 20page long thread over at pistonheads with horror stories.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...&mid=0

from what ive gathered there, the horror stories seem to be down to
1) drivers using the wrong coloured pads for their designated cars (e.g. greenstuff when their car should have something else)
2) drivers ripping it around tracks
3) early compound which have since been replaced by newer stuff

first two dont apply to me in a RRS doing town driving. does anyone here have any experience with these?
or just stick with the oem brembo (which i understand are the ferodo ones) 07 TDV8 + BAS map

I've used ebb stuff on my cars for years i can't fault them not had any break fade or anything since using them and i do have a fast aggressive driving style
only problems I've seen is people using wrong pads for there cars weight etc or using track pads on the road dues to the track pads need so good warming up before they become effective so you get people putting them on there corsas pulling out of drive and then going straight through a red light due to not been able to stop as pads art warm and have very little braking force

but you'd have no problems using brembo pads either or mintex

you can go on ebb website and it tells you what ones you'd need and gives you differences between each pad only the dead truely know peace,
Bootneck its not a job its a way of life!

Thanks chilly. Think I'll stick to brembos, not feeling adventurous.

I have found that there are two variations
Standard discs and drilled+grooved . anyone got experienced with these drilled+grooved ? 07 TDV8 + BAS map

I have Redstuff with drilled and grooved discs.

Pads are OK when cold, but a bit wooden. Get better the hotter they get, and are a low dust pad
Discs warped after 3k miles...

Yikes

Disc warped due to pads or due to the funky grooves thing?

And are these brembo discs or ebc? 07 TDV8 + BAS map

Discs are made by Terrfirma, sold by Allmakes. Were not particularly cheap either...

And they are a bit noisy when braking, a characteristic dpor drivelled and grooved discs

Stick to normal discs, IMHO. D+G discs are not worth the extra cost.

I got Brembo discs and pads, got brake judder after 3k miles, got the discs changed under warranty another 3k miles same again though haven't tried for another claim yet. I don't really want to have to change the brakes every 3k so are there any other brands out there which will perform any better ?? 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

You can get updated Brembo Discs with grooves or drilled. The pads we get with the std Brembo calliper are probably Land Rover not Brembo.

The updates include the Discs, pads and hoses.

Have a look at the Brembo website.

currently looking at standard brembo discs & pads http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-SPOR...4d1d6a4cef

vs grooved & drilled brembo discs with standard brembo pads http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-SPOR...4ad571896e

or brembo discs with ferodo premier pads http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferodo-FDB1996-Bra...ds=FDB1996

or there is a painted version of the standard brembo discs on their website http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brembo-09-8877-31-...elId=23051 (by painted im guessing it's the UV stuff to prevent corrosion ?) 07 TDV8 + BAS map
