That's a really nice looking car- fantastic mileage. And I like the fact that it's been properly serviced every- many low mileage ones aren't. Good luck mate

Cheers by the way

Yes Peter a "good" warranty is a must, mine came with AA 5* and they agreed to pay a nice big fat ZERO towards fixing the car, its wear and tear or not covered, something I don't really understand, its a 7 year old car don't most things fail because its wear and tear. I think warranty Direct is the way forward, I'm outside the UK working so can't call them for the discount, as there is not an international number, but even at £800 its better than £4k.

Crammy, it would seem there are many issues with these cars, there maybe some cars in the lower end spec and higher mileage that the chavs and idiots can buy, even the scum bags out pinching lights grills etc to make them look all nice but that doesn't get around the cost at the garage the car maybe £10-12k to buy but its a fortune to a maintain, which I think is an oversight of many new buyers, Turbos and things like that people talk about, on the TDV6 have timing belts where as V8 has chain there are many pros and cons on engine type, but either way you have to have deep pockets to keep them going.

At the end of they day your buying a top end car which has everything you want/need these when new were £50+K, Most people with a good job could buy £50K Car, but its the overall running costs, when they are a bit older these running costs certainly don't go downwards, but if you can only afford to run a mondeo then don't buy a RRS. As a note this car is costing me more to run than both my Lambos and my Ferrari, but they are new cars so full warranty

I think the RRS is a car you must really want, or you would not put up with the faults.

The dealer I bought the car from offered a full refund and take the car back, for me this was not an option, the car came from the Midlands, its now in Wales with my father as I work away, to get it taken to midlands, have my plate put back on retention, and fly back into the UK to find another RRS would cost a lot more than this £4k, just 3 days from work would be that much,
I had a mechanic to look over the car before I bought it, so its just 1 of those things I guess, all in with buying the car and the repairs its £21k, but somethings Ive asked for such as Brembos refurbished and painted, Transmission oil changed, fuel filter, air filter all cost money maybe £1K is things Ive asked for.

At least I know 150% that its done, I could have given it back got a refund, spend time and money looking for another one and 3 months down the line have the same problems, so bite the bullet pay the bills and enjoy the car. I could have bought newer its not a budget issue, 2012 or 2014 but this was the shape spec I wanted.

Hi mark. I understand that when these cars go wrong they can be costly so I will definatly be getting the WD policy. Would just be good if I could knock it down a bit. If I can't then I can't but sooner the cash in my pocket than their's .

I have wanted one for years and now is a good time for me.I have been saving as I don't want finance. I was stupid when I was younger with cards loans and wasting money but those days are gone.

I appreciate the high running and maintenance cost but that is not an issue.

I, like yourself will get all necessary works done regardless of cost. This is my pride and joy after all

Thanks

Jay

When you say day one do you mean after the sellers crappy warranty has expired or from when you pick the car up?
Reason I ask is I'm sure it's been mentioned that non LR warranties only kick in after 90 days, I could be wrong so it's worth checking.

I'll look into that mate. I'll speak to WD Monday. A bit late now as I bought it about an hour ago. I did get the crappie 3 month 2 grand one with it which probably isn't worth a toss as no wear and tear or probably any other cover for that matter.

Unfortunately not peter but I got it for 19500 instead of 20000 and they wouldnt budge on that but I suppose that is a years tax in a round about way. Im still happy with my purchase. Ive been to look at vehicles before and noone else is interested in them while im there looking about but the interest in this was unreal and the pictures only came out thursday evening. There were 4 seperate people after this while I was there. Mind you, they could of been shills Laughing
