Red Suspension Light

Normally after a few minutes the yellow suspension light comes on & has done this for 2 years now. That's me being lazy in getting the compressor filter fixed...

But today, the red light came on with a message saying suspension fault stop safely and stop engine Shocked What's all that about? I was on the way to catch a ferry and the car was behaving so I continued. I later had a strange smell, not like anything I've ever smelt burning before on a car but it went. I had to stop for security & they asked for the bonnet to be popped, upon which I noticed that a yellow capped fluid container at the front of the engine bay, indicating suspension, had been leaking but looking at the level it was just over max?

I get the message somethings up but what?

It is probably unrelated to the mechanical whirring I'm still getting so I figure I'm going to have some bills when I get back to London..

Well, its in a specialist at the moment and its looking like the ACE Pump, though not confirmed yet. It was apparently reading 650BAR at one point!

This is in addition to a wheel bearing and likely needing a new air compressor & possibly top ARB bushes...

At least it will be a happy car when I get it back Smile

2 Years Shocked Shocked Shocked

I feel sorry for the poor bloke who one day buys this car from you, these things are troublesome at the best of times when well looked after but to neglect something for 2 YEARS is unbelievable

"whats all that about?" ....... you really need to ask? Rolling with laughter

Haha!

That particular problem was the pre-filter. Suspension & pump worked fine (going up/down etc) before the light came on. Seeing as how I rarely used it off road or needed access mode, then it was hardly (for me) an urgent item & didn't affect the operation of the car.

Suppose you could say the same of the parking sensors. They don't work so I've removed the fuse to stop the beep and I can park without needing them - never had them in any car I've owned.

Rest of the car gets serviced regularly and looked after but why spend money when its not totally necessary? Also don't do that many miles.

I just think if your sort the little niggles out as and when they arise your less likely to be lumped with a big bill when you try and get them all sorted at the same time.

I suppose if your happy with it then that's all that matters Thumbs Up

Car is back Thumbs Up

Needed a new ARC Pump as well, which fortunately you can get recon & an ARC sensor as the new pump wasn't recognised by the ECU & which caused quite a bit of head scratching.
