Urgent help with GPS please, unable to reset arrow

Hi gang

Special help for my friend whom has left his Range Rover Sport with me for a few days as he takes care of my own Rangie. I only have the Rangie for a few days hence the urge for your help to fix it.

The gps system acts funny and is completely lost.

I have tried to follow the owner’s manual how to reset it correctly (I did 5 times, even unplugged the battery for 10 min, etc.) but TILL, the pointer/arrow resets to the wrong direction (full East when it should be North West) right after the screen says the system has been reset successfully!

edit:
The location is correct, but the arrow goes full East and there is no vocal indication (road is hightlited though.

it simply says "please watch the map and indications will follow" BUT none do.

Anyone experience and corrected this?

TX

THERE is a pic missing here where the arrow is Nothr West and I press "OK", then it goes to the next screen and the arrow is now back to full East Twisted Evil

A lot of electronic GPS systems calculate the direction of travel by comparing the last position with the current position and that gives you the direction of travel or what you are calling the compass direction.

Not sure if the RRS does this or has an actual Magnetometer.

What happens when you drive thr car? Does it work correctly then? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Well if it is bust then you would not have the correct position?

But if it is bust then it cannot calculate a direction of course!

Is the position being shown correctly? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

This is the odd thing : the location is correct, but the arrow goes full East and there is no vocal indication (road is hightlited though.

it simply says "please watch the map and indications will follow" BUT none do.

EDIT

AS you may see, the arrow keeps on heading east while we cruise northbound.

That is strange, then the GPS seem to be working, but it cannot calculate the direction of travel and so display the compass arrow correctly.

Maybe there is a magnetometer fitted to these cars after all?
