Warranty issues!!

Bought an approved vehicle 1 month ago, the first day I noticed a judder when braking and called the dealer to book it in.

The car was booked in for 10 days later as the car was going into be colour coded and this would take a week.

The garage replaced brake discs and this cured the problem but they advised that track rod ends, bushes, play in some other part and an oil leak on diff and they need to make a claim on warranty and It will need to be booked back in.

I advised that I have had this car less than 2 weeks and I have used for less than 1 week and that it was supposed to be approved vehicle, so wasn’t these faults noticed when inspected, also that the oil leak was picked on the MOT advisory 3 weeks prior and I was told it had been fixed.

The car went in Monday and I was told the car would be back by 5.30, then today and I just called them now and they have told me that someone from the warranty company needs to inspect the vehicle, as they are unable to approve without inspection and this could be anytime but more likely a good few days!!
Unsure on what to do now, what would be the next stage if the warranty company refuse to pay for the repairs?

Certainly for the oil leak- if they told you they had fixed it and they hadn't then the dealer themselves should pay if the warranty company doesn't.
The approved bit should work in your favour- see if you can get a copy of their approved checks- you may be able to prove things were missed.
Worse case I imagine you'd have a good case to lose faith in the car, worry what else they've missed and give it back to them.
I'd certainly hold off colour coding etc until it's sorted.

When you say approved do you mean Land Rover Approved with manufacturers warranty still valid?

If that's the case then I think you should be asking for a courtesy car at least.

If it's just 'John Smith dealer approved' then it's probably not worth the paper it's written on. Current 2010 RRS TDV8

Thanks for the replies it was a land rover approved main dealer. It was all finally sorted yesterday. Was not happy that considering it was inspected, it needed all that work done to it, and we had it less than a month!!

Sorry to say but that is all standard practice amongst dealers, get the car out the door then deal with any issues under warrenty so sales dept don't have to pay. Did the car get a new Mot when you bought it?
The items would have been noted if so even as advisories.
Used LR Warrenty is via a third party so inspection is the norm, but naughty all the same that a LR dealer do this, you would expect and demand better. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

I'd be surprised if the warranty company would foot the bill this soon after delivery. Its down to the dealer as the faults were obviously there before you bought the car.

Tell Land Rover Customer service your situation I suspect they will help apply pressure to get the car fixed.

Remember, as part of the Approved Scheme, you can reject the car inside 30 days but you've made things complicated by having it 'modified' (coloured coded).
