Poorly fitted leather seats

I've complained to LR about the poorly fitted rear seats.

The fitment is so poor and i wouldn't accept this standard of workmanship on a 70's kit car ....

As Mark has commented these are covers manufactured offsite .. it's no excuse, it just looks cheap.

Am I alone in having this issue or are everyone's rear seats to a greater or lesser extent like this ??...

I'm waiting to hear back from LR..

That is truly terrible. Thank you for taking it up with Land Rover because if you don't complain, nothing happens.

Perhaps our resident LR flunky would like to comment? Mark

Thanks Peachy...that's good to hear... alarming though at the same time that this could potentially have slipped

through three sets of QC though.....

It could be the dreaded .... 'It's within tolerance' chestnut .... but lets wait and see..

I'd still like to hear from other members. I find it hard to believe this is an isolated incident..

Mark.. I won't bother Peter at CR yet as i'm waiting for feedback from LR and this may be dealt with....

Andman: Checked all mine and they are smooth as a baby's b.m. You've certainly got a Friday car(or the seats at least). Not good at the price you've paid. Keep at them 'til it gets resolved to your satisfaction. Rod SDV6 (14.5) Corris Grey NZ Spec + door mouldings, mud flaps and tow bar

Well I hope Johnson Controls are being given a good kicking for such shoddy work.

What is the upholsterer meant to be doing? Can't be redoing the stitching because it will show. Maybe he's putting more padding in to plump it up but how permanent a fix will it be?

Reminds me of the horrible prestige seats in early Evoques which were all droopy leather and brought to mind those wrinkly Shar-Pei dogs...

Nothing short of perfect will be acceptable,,, talk of re-plumping using foam/padding and 'steaming'... Hunters are excellent in aftercare so I expect a smooth process to resolve. I assume a specialist upholsterer may even do a better job than LR.

Doesn't detract from us being extremely happy with the car on the whole,

Will keep y'all updated P400e HSE Portofino Blue and Ivory Seats.. it's like a yacht!!

Yes, please do keep us updated but at least you seem to have a dealer who isn't in denial.

Personally, I think LR should dump Johnson Controls for the high-end stuff and go to Recarro. Do I see this rubbish in my Porsches? I do not. Mark

Boldly That is appalling... my front seats aren't too bad....

Look forward to seeing how they turn out after a trip to the upholsterers ...

Dependent on how yours turn out will determine whether I pursue the LR dealer here to fix mine... Laughing

Have a look at the seat belt buckle in the rear , behind the driver seat.... topic below..

Get them to address that as well while it's in...Curious to know if your buckle stands proud ..

Not good. My seats are fine except for a very small bulge in the passenger seat.

This photo was taken when the car was less than an hour old, but luckily it hasn't got any worse. Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

I'm going to send them the car with yellow stick-its on the imperfections, pretty much all seats to be honest, including the buckle, they will open the car and wonder WTF is this - bcoz there will be quite a few of them. Photos have already been sent.

And for the record I've done 700 miles and the front passenger seat has largely been unoccupied, and when someone was in it they weren't the size of a Censored elephant !

I can only see upside in going back to the dealer, and 'Chrisr1806' given that leather will stretch if 'allowed to' IMHO I think you should get it seen to early on whilst the dealer still remembers you. Thumbs Up P400e HSE Portofino Blue and Ivory Seats.. it's like a yacht!!
