United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
EGR Valves

Morning All,

I just wanted to ask a few questions about EGR Valves please. My car is a 2006 55 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE. From the brief bit of reading that i've done on here, am I right in thinking that I can blank off both of my EGR vales and the car will not throw any warning lights or have any detrimental effect on performance? Does blanking the EGR's improve performance?

I know that having the EGR's blanked stops a lot of carbon from building up in the manifolds etc but just wondering what the key benefits are.

Also, where can I buy the kit and does anybody have a how to guide for blanking them?

Cheers

Hi, yes you can blank them on that year. And if you buy a Brit part set (costs a little more than most).
It comes with full picture fitting instructions.
Or if you get some cheap ones of the bay I'm sure you could find a how to on here or over on the disco site.

Realistic if your car is in good condition and not suffering any problems then there will be no benefit at all.
The egr valves only open on part and no throttle situations to reduce fuel compsumion and emissions.
The problems with them arise when the vehicle is used for short journeys regularly. The egt temprariture is not sufficient enough to burn off the carbon deposits. Contaminating the valve when cooled eventually causing it to be less responsive and. Eventually stick. The blank is just a cheaper fix than 2 egr valves and prevents repeat problems accouring.

Alive Tuning always have good stock of these EGR removal kits, available from our website shop, here:http://www.alivetuning.com/alive-boutique/...path=61_67

You can download our fitting instructions from our website, here: http://alivetuning.com/guides/

We also do EGR disable for the later model 2.7 TDV6 with our ATRIC remapping modules.

My own TDV8 has run with EGR shut for most of this year.

It's more complicated than the 2.7 TDV6, mostly due to the electronically controlled throttle bodies.

Users of our ATRIC system can volunteer to have this patch applied.
