Finally picked up my new AB this morning...

Only had it for an hour though as I drove it straight down to Wokingham for a complete detail by Michael at

Gemclean.... boy was it hard parting with it so so soon but I guess i've waited this long another 4 days will i'm

sure be ultimately worth it once it's all gteched up with crystal serum... this stuff is supposed to be awesome...

Anyway , my initial impressions are simple... Absolutely amazing !! ... I'll write in more detail when i've spent a

week behind the wheel..

I'll also update on the gtech protection... It is surprising though, how dirty or lets say grimy a new car can actually

be when it's delivered ..

The only thing I found perhaps a little disappointing was the fit of the leather trim on the seat.....

Forget the rear door seal that i've had a good moan about.... the seats are the issue for me....

I'm afraid the quality of Land Rover seats is not good. They're just bought in from an outside vendor who clearly has not looked at the quality people like Recarro achieve.

I believe, though I may be wrong, that the supplier in question is Johnson Controls and they need to be taken to task over their quality. Someone in Land Rover is not setting the bar high enough.

I don't think the situation will be any different with the SVR seats which are reputedly based on the ones from the Jaguar XF. It looks to me like there is a rather unhealthy customer/supplier relationship here where the supplier has become complacent and Land Rover are not sufficiently on the ball to do anything about it.

Complain to the dealer because as the leather stretches with use, they will look even worse. Mark

The rear seat finish is appalling ... I pointed it out to my dealer and he took pictures to send to the factory...

The front driver seems to be ok the rest are all very poor and kit car like....

As you say Mark... they are made offsite and fitted no differently to how they would be on a kit car...

My contract is actually direct with LR , so no dealers in the middle ... lets wait back and see what they say..

Buying direct from LR .. Is. Because it's through their tax free sales dept
Which is done direct through the factory. No idea why ..

Happy though because at least this way I got exactly what I wanted
