Splitting the headlights

Seen a few posts about headlight mods, but can't find anything about what is involved in splitting the headlights. Is it risky job?

I've not done it, but I think the riskiest part is getting the temperature right to enable the glue seal to melt enough to pries them apart.
As you say a few threads on here about how to do it Thumbs Up .......including a notable one from awdman who managed to incarcerate a wasp when putting them back together .......and fit different sized halo's to the L&R lights.......... Rolling with laughter ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

But don't use a screwdriver as awdman did as he has warped the edges where they split, instead when I did them again I used a wall paper scraper as the wider blade opens it better.

IMO I wouldn't do it, awd mans kit was wasn't in two years before they failed and I had to split then again.
