YES at last --- EGR blanking on Euro 4 -- 100% Sorted

YES at last --- EGR blanking on Euro 4 -- 100% Sorted Report post

Pete Bell EGR Emulators Bow down Thumbs Up
Looks like the answer to EGR blanking on Euro 4 engines has finally been solved. Thumbs Up

I have been running Pete Bell Emulators since the end of June, since then my car has been in daily use, undertaking a mixture of local running around, pretty nippy fast A road use with plenty of wide open throttle overtaking along with Motorway cruising.

I have been checking for any faults on a regular basis via my Gap BT iidtool and have not had one problem, in fact I have been able to see the Emulators operating whist driving via my ipad.,

Pete also provided me with updated engine MAP to go with the Emulators, I must admit how much I am impressed with this tune, the amount of black smoke from the exhaust has been vastly reduced, and Drivability wise, initial pick up has definitely improved.

I would highly recommend anyone with Euro 4 Disco or Sport to seriously consider fitting these emulators, (possible via Geoff or Flack) I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Finally, the other very important issue is future MOT’s (ITV in Spain), from what I can gather ERG functionality will/may become part of these tests, basically this will be done by plugging test equipment into the diagnostic port in the foot-well of the vehicle in order to test EGR functionality, the beauty of the BAS setup that this will not pose a problem, as the Emulators do what their name suggests, they emulate what a working EGR valve does , this is something that a software only mod fails to do.

Presumably this is only for the TDV6? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The EGR's are easily shut off within the software too, with no more side effects than you get with the early 2.7 TDV6 wearing EGR blanks.

Very simple to do on the 2.7, and slightly more complicated for the 3.6 TDV8 where the throttle bodys have to be disconnected to keep them in the open position. Works like a charm, and easily reversible as you can reflash the engine ECU with our ATRIC system, a week or so before your annual inspection to re-activate the entire EGR system and allow the readiness monitors to clear, and will pass any NOx test. Simples! Very Happy Feel the difference... Feel Alive!

If the car only has a software mod, will this not flag up an issue at MOT time?

As I understand it, future MOT tests (ITV in Spain) could include a check on to ensure that the EGR valves are functioning, this could be undertaken via the diagnostic socket in the footwell hence the reason for the Emulators along with a new Map. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Just need BAS to get one sorted for the TDV8 and I'll be handing him money... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
