2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Zermatt Silver
Newbie V8 SC

Hi All, just joined the forum and had a little nose around before I bought my SC. It's a 2005 with 41,500 miles on the clock. An ex Stratestone demonstrater and then one female owner living it's life in Chelsea and Fulham.

Amazing car, what it doesn't have isn't worth worrying about.

I do have a question about key fobs where would be the best section to ask for advice?

Thank you, my keys don't want to work some of the time. I think one has completely given up the ghost and the other one lets me lock and unlock with no problems for a day or so then suddenly decides not to either unlock or lock the car Censored

To be honest both keys have seen better days and I want to replace both. However, after calling Harwoods in Crawley they quoted me £164.94 per key and then £66.00 to code both. A grand total of £395.80 Shocked

Is there a way of getting this cheaper? I know these cars are expensive to own and run but nearly £400 for two keys seems a bit steep. HELP!

Thank you Gogsy, I've had a look on youtube and came across a forum about splitting the key to replace the battery and solder it in place to the PCB. Not my thing if I'm honest, I know I will completely cock it up and end up injuring myself and the key will look like Censored and probably still not work.

I would like to replace both keys with new but wondered if there is a cheaper way of acheiving this without paying the dealer prices.

Thanks Ady for the tip. I've just spoken to Dan@Duckworths and ordered two new keys from them. A decent saving in price compared to my local dealer and he is a nice guy as well. Always happy to support site sponsors.

Once again thanks for the steer Thumbs Up

Now about the bluetooth connection for my iphone 5. Why won't it automatically pair with the RRS like it used too in my M3?

Hi Daxmatt, yes I can pair if I type 2121 into the phone no problem. The pain in the Censored is when I leave the car with the phone then get back, in I have to re input 2121 to make the phone pair up with the car again. I never had to do this with the M3 the phone automatically paired with the car. I just wondered if there was a simple fix for this, you push a few buttons in the car and hey presto the problem is solved, that sort of thing. Very Happy

No simple fix I'm afraid - you need an updated Bluetooth module - try a search on the top banner function using 'Bodsy' as the subject - he is the man - they can be sent through the post or he can fit when he is on his travels Thumbs Up

I PM'd him and it all sounds good Peachy. I have no idea where the Bluetooth module is but interested in the fact he travels around. I'll have to ask if he ever gets down South so he can do the fix for me Thumbs Up
