Could it be the vent pipe from the battery? |

Just spoke to dealer and he believes its a drain pipe for the water channels! He checked two other RRS's that were waiting to go out and they also both had it. Just thought LR would have hidden it a little better, but as long as it's 'normal' it's fine |

My delivery driver told me that if you fill with petrol (mine is a diesel) then the car somehow recognises this and rejects the fuel which pours out over your shoes via aforementioned pipe! Sounded like he knew what he was on about, but lord knows how the car detects the wrong fuel |

Ah, that might make sense as I was reading the owners manual (couldn't help myself ) and it has something in there about filling with the wrong fuel! Apparently some yellow 'thing' pops out into the line to stop the fuel going into the tank, so I take it it must divert the fuel to that drain line! There's a tool in the boot that you need to use to reset it! Good idea, hopefully never need it |

It's not fool proof though. I know of two people that have filled with petrol instead of diesel in their RRS's as the mis-fuel device didn't engage

Hi Top0cat. I see that you've just got your new RRS2........so, does it have 'The Gap'....? (By this I mean, of course, the well documented gap that runs along the bottom boot seal - between the seal and the convex plastic panel that runs downwards from it?)

Hi there top0cat, They've all got the drain pipe showing. Suggest painting it matt black if its really annoying you. Otherwise just enjoy your new car as I'm sure you will if you're anything like me. Rod SDV6 (14.5) Corris Grey NZ Spec + door mouldings, mud flaps and tow bar

Hi Gal Dove, yep I'm afraid it does, although I personally didn't think it was that bad, but I do understand why people are disappointed that LR couldn't come up with a better design when your paying top dollar I'll post up a pic when I get a chance! |
