I have noticed that the VIN number described on the sticker under the bonnet is different to the VIN number shown behind the windscreen. The vehicle is a 2010 RRS HSE sold by Stratstone. I have entered the data into TOPix - at least one of the VIN's matches the vehicle - the one under the bonnet. How could this happen? Any ideas?

The VIN shown on the Reg papers is the one under the bonnet. I suspect that the labels were mixed up at the factory. OR - my car has been made up of bits of another! Hope not...

The VIN behind the windscreen shows a similar vehicle (Make/Model) but finished in Arctic White. Mine is Buckingham Blue.

Land Rover customer services say get back to the dealer immediately. The dealer doesn't know what immediately means. |

How did the vehicle pass it's PDI never mind - I'm sure your dealer will do the right thing either replace the incorrect ID tag or paint the RRS Arctic White

Thank goodness that checks out. Under bonnet VIN matches Car Reg data. Maybe Land Rover factory just mixed up the stickers for the behind windscreen VIN. Locating the corresponding victim would prove that. Up to the dealer to do all that.

Surely LR will know who owns the Arctic white vehicle, and can check whether that vehicle has all the correct vin numbers on it.
