Fuel burnng heater

Apologies for starting a thread that has been widely covered but i want a definitive answer.
Does the heater just heat up the cabin on cold mornings, and is more of a "comfort" or does it actually bring the engine up to operating temp for easier starting in the cold climates and again for the comfort of having warm air as soon as you start your journey.

Thanks in advance.

It warms the engine coolant. This benefits engine warm up in cold conditions and helps cabin comfort too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You need an external timer to run the FBH to preheat the car though.

As it is, it is only an auxiliary heater, that runs when the engine is on
