He's been caught and spoken to. I imagine they only cautioned as wasn't your car. Have you let hire company know as they can pursue?

Sounds like the guy is evil so let him take his anger out on some other person

To be a teacher he must have an enhanced CRB certificate. This will show if he has any convictions or cautions.

He knows that with a caution for criminal damage that his job is on the line. You can either tell the school and the Board of Governers about his caution or give him a bloody good hiding and tell him if he reports you you will go to the school where he works and the local press and tell them about his caution.

Just send an intention to take action letter detailing your case and if he doesn't respond small claims court will be a cheap option.

Do you like where you live ? Do you want to live there long term ? If so I would go and see him and try and bury the hatchet and come to some agreement . If he doesn't want to play ball then I would throw everything at him I could .

The school is nothing to do with you? You need to confront him about his behaviour and actions. I would suggest, like the last person, to knock on his door and ask him nicely to pay for the damage/tyre and provide him with receipts. See what his reaction is like? then kick him in the nuts! seriously though, you need to live there not us

Ten years ago I would have given him a slap, I'm getting on a bit now and my arthritis gives me gyp into the bargain so those days are gone for me.

I would show him the video clip, tell him that if he behaves like a in future that the video will be sent to the appropriate teaching authorities.

It wouldn't have mattered to me whether the car was a hire or my own vehicle. The fact that a neighbour thought he could get away with damaging something he thought was mine, as a way of taking retribution would be more than enough to warrant issuing him a swift kick in the haw-maws.

Id repay evil for evil. Just sit up late one wednesday night, creep out and paint stripper his. Let him know your willing to for further and more aggressive than him. Though he sounds a bit mental tbh, people dont just do stuff like that so casually. He must be a little broken in the head to begin with, so ignore my first few lines.

Upgrade your security, get them automatic sensor lights in front and back. 

Retaliating with paint stripper is really not helpful. Try and get him to apologise and pay for the replacement tyre. Show him you are the better man.
