Hello All,

Newbie here, just joined as I have ordered a new RRS and have a couple of questions.

I ordered the car on 27 August and was told that delivery would be March 15, ok I thought as it will be a new reg, but I get an email this morning confirming a build date of 21/11/14 with delivery 12/12/14, now I am looking forward to getting my new car but should I try to delay it 2 months to get a new reg?

This is my first RRS (have X5 and don’t like the new one) are there any must have features?

This is my spec:
HSE Dynamic
Santorini Black
Body coloured slide pan roof
21” 9 spoke 901 wheels
Stealth Pack
Privacy glass
Red calipers
5+2 seating (hence the 21’s)
Ebony/Cirrus leather
Auto high beam
Electric tow bar
Twin blade visor
Mood lighting (not sure on this one)
Heated steering wheel
Blind spot monitoring and rev traffic
Front cooler
Large wash bottle
TV (not dual view, is it worth the extra?)
Rear TV’s

Are any of the driver aids worth having or the InControl apps and wifi?

Personally if I was going to get my car 2 months earlier than the next reg change I'd take the car rather than wait as the whole driving round with a new reg plate on doesn't interest me, private reg going straight on mine when it arrives anyway! However if LR was making any worthwhile changes to the next reg then thats a different story!

Dealer tells me mines now due into them on 19th Sept!! The days are dragging now

Topcat you might be right my private plate will be going from current sport onto new one before I pick it up just wondered if it would mean losing more on resale than waiting the extra 2 months as I'm thinking about just changing to new car every 12 months .

I wouldn't wait for a new reg.

Your spec list looks good. Can you get a full-sized spare with the +2 seats? If so, I would.

Dual view is clever. Is it worth it? As much as the TVs are. TV is (almost) unwatchable on the move. At least with dual view if there is something unmissable on the TV and you've got a signal and you're driving, you can lean over to see the picture.*

InControl would be worth it. There are, I believe, four InControl 'things': Remote, Secure, Apps, and WiFi. Remote and Secure are a must. Apps will be too IMHO otherwise you'll join the rest bemoaning the slow infotainment system.

*only in principle of course.  

I wouldn't try to delay for the new Match reg but would delay having it registered until the first week of Jan. it then becomes a 2015 car when you sell on rather than a 2014

Been told as I've ordered a MY15 the incontrol remote and secure are now standard across the range 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Now gone

If you like your music at all..... Meridian sound upgrade is a must....

Had dual view on my MY12 and my passenger never used it once.....not ordered on new one

Mood lighting only lights up the centre console and is a bit of a gimmick.... but I love lighting... and LED's... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Side steps...... worth considering ..... even though the RRS has low access height ...my wife uses them every time... great for kids as well... Known to get a dirty.... but what part of the car doesn't
