Good evening all,

I would like to know if anybody changed the rear brake pipes on RRS 2005-2009? as they are corroded on mine.

Is it an easy job or is it very difficult?
How could you get to the pipes?
Did you have to lift the car?
Which pipes did you use as a replacement and from which place did you buy them? which tools did you use?
Is there any How-To guide for the RRS? any pictures? any thread dealing with this......?

I am planning to this myself this weekend and I appreciate any help. The Land Rover dealer wants about 1000 EUR to replace mine and they said it will take them about 5 h of work because they have to lift the body from the frame.

Before posting I checked the forum and online but there seem to be nothing related to the RRS.

I had my rear pipes changed out for copper by a local Landrover mechanic. He run the pipes from the front in to the rear with just the car jacked up at the rear and the rear wheels off, I can not remember if he had to remove any under shields. He had all the correct fittings and pipe forming tools to seal the ends, can't remember if it was flaring or bubble flaring tool kit he had. He did the job in under 2 hours.

Thanks a lot for the valuable info. At least I know that I have to remove the wheels.

Just under the passengers seat is a heatshield, behind this are the two rear brake pipes, I cut these here and join with new copper pipe to both rear wheels job done in about 2 hours

Have you cleaned the pipes off to check how bad they are or is a dealer/tester telling you?

I saw that they are corroded. But I dont know if thats serious or not. The dealer said it is dangerous to drive with them like that.
