I have had the deployment steps fitted due to the fact my wife needed them as she has a bad leg and found it hard to get in and out without the steps.

How much did the dealer charge to install them? The option costs £2200 or thereabouts and I've heard figures of up to £800 for installation. It would be less if LR had included the wiring loom as standard to avoid tearing the interior of the car apart and I think the whole thing would be less if LR installed it as an option on the line. I paid £2200 for the steps, the fitting was done by the main dealer free of charge. |

That's good value because there's a lot of work involved - was told about 6 hours and with main dealer rates being what they are... Mark

Can I stick my bit in and I promise not to type a love poem about my car I had fixed steps on my first sport and the anodised soon started to discolour and yes after a couple of years they did as mark sujested they started to look tired , the wife thought they where great for easy access / exit , however I didn't bother on my BE and after a couple of weeks she stopped mentioning it also with the bodykit on the BE they would have looked out of place , I haven't bothered thinking about them on my soon to arrive hse I believe it's a tad lower anyway Rob |

Sidesteps are tested in all conditions including Eastnor Castle and are subjected to the same amount of work that the car normally undergoes.

We have the deployable side steps £2500k fitted and have to say they are very good. Cleaned several times now as we live close to lots of farms, and they have come up great.

If they cost you £2500k, they would certainly need to be good at that price... Mark SVR in Estoril Blue |

Why do some people ^^^^^^^ have an unhealthy obsession with the cost of deployable side steps?
