Just got my new DA polisher....

Need some advice...

Paintwork needs very little correction

What very gentle polish ... or all in one suggestions can you throw my way....

Really want the mildest cut I can get...

I've got Autoglym super resin... that I don't want to use...

Got Dodo juice prime lite... probably also not suitable

Looking at Zaino all in one as a possibility...

Advice much appreciated

If little or no correction is needed then you want a polish with very little 'cut' to it. SRP would do the job but it has fillers which tend to mask fine swirls rather than correct them so I agree, give that a miss.

I've used this Sonus polishes in the past and this one is perfect where you just want to clean up the paint/lacquer.

You'd be best giving the paintwork a good clay beforehand too and of course then you'll want to seal it to show off your handiwork, Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection is easy to apply or maybe one of the newer acrylic sealants.

Lime Prime Lite is a good bet, but remember lite cut polish on heavy cutting pad will provide more cut than a lite on a finish pad, but if I recall correctly LPL is a cleaner with minimal cut, were as DD lime prime has more cut

I used to mess about with this polish and that pad then I found Meguiers DA Microfibre Polishing System, makes work so much easier and quicker

I only use the Polishing compound and the cutting microfibres and get a finish I'm happy with

You could go finishing MF with finishing compound to jewel up a finish with less cut

I think NP is right - it's easier to get the right combination with the MF kit, than it is with various compounds and pads with different cuts to them. It's trial and error really, but you can't do any damage with a DA unless you're trying to. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Bradders as you say... i want to avoid the fillers now with SRP.. was great before by hand but I'm going up in the world now !

Will def be claying as well.. and some Iron X

Npinks... thx def going to look at the Meguiars system , and great advice on the pads..

Being a novice I am starting with the softest pads... and will work my way up with confidence and level of correction still

will probably buy the SFX3 as well and give it a try on something...

I take it you're not fans of all in ones... Zaino ?

Lastly..... New RRS going into build this week.... has anyone had any experience with Optimum Opticoat2

Re Zaino AIO - it's a great product and much understated in my view. I use it when I want a 'quick' solution it has very little fillers and cut but offers a great 'chemical' clean to the paint and leaves behind some decent protection too.  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Hi there,

What year is your range rover? The older model generally had intermediate lacquer so was a dream
To machine. The new RR have very sticky lacquers. Which is a whole new ball park. Whatever cut your looking for remember a da oscillates where's a rotary is fix rotation. So in order to get a good cut even on a mild level stick to harder compounded pads and a great aio compound. At the top of my list without a doubt us rupes blue, green and yellow pads. Then all you need is menzerna fg400 for your cut and an intermediate abrasive machine polish such as scholl concepts s17+

With this gear you will get the desired finish you wish every time on the RR lacquers.

All you need now is lots of patience and dedication as your need 2/3 days just to give the RR's a well executed polish!
