If you paint it or wrap it, it will look a mess just after your first outing as it will get chipped. Big Cry A vulnerable area is that.

Ady more of Debbie does Dallas

But I agree, anything on the side steps will chip off,

I have side tubes and they could do with a sandblast and powder coat as the paint is flacking off now

Personally if you matt black the silver edge you won't see the steps........ It's the silver on the steps that make them stand out.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

I don't have steps on my MY14, thankfully as I think it looks much better without, but did have on my previous MY10.

I tried painting those edges but after one motorway trip in monsoon conditions the shot blast effect had stripped off about 6-8 inches at the front,

Net result I ended up stripping all the paint off.

I am sure wrapping would also suffer from stones being thrown up from the front wheels MY2010 TDV8 purchased Jan 2017
MY14 HSE Dynamic 3.0 SDV6 sold Sept 2015
MY 2010 TDV8 sold April 2014
MY 2007 V6 HSE sold July 2013

I wonder if the vinyl might be more forgiving than a paint, instead of chipping off, it might just puncture, but that will allow water in I assume

If seen most revere models with painted side steps, must say they do look good on black sports, if you like the pimp daddy look.

Mine is a Revere with painted side steps. You get the odd chip but really very rarely and I just spray Matt black BBQ spray and it brings it back. I didn't like them black at first but now I prefer it.
