Warrantywise - sounds like a decent price?

Im haggling with Warrantywise to provide me 3 years cover including everything except MOT failure and multimedia cover. single claim limit up to 5k with £100-00 excess. Unlimited mileage.
Labour rate £75-00 p/h inc VAT (should cover best part of indie charge)

Trying to get this for 1,500-00

Car is 57 plate tdv8 and 99k miles (so I need to get in before I go over the 100k)

Any opinions?

I haven't heard many great reviews about Warrantywise.

A few members on here including myself with my previous RRS have used warranty direct with no problems. Thumbs Up 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Ive had Warantywise on my Porsche for one year but fortunately havent had to claim, so I havent tested it but the attraction was that i could buy a policy for 3 years which i find is a good selling point if I decide to sell in that time.

when I enter details on warranty direct, i only get one year quotes?
Not keen on renewing yearly as I feel that if I get a problem after a year I can be assured it cant be put down as a pre existing problem.

Any thoughts?

A few on here have taken out 3 year policies with WD, pretty sure they only offer this over the phone.

Just leave your details on their site and let them phone you but never accept their first quote , they always come down in price. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Ok il do that, I just got quoted over 800 quid for a year, Im thinking thats a bit steep, Id pay 1600 for 3 years decent cover tho.
I usually change cars after 2 years os that would leave me a year to pass on to the new owner.

One turbo has seized solid, and oil seals have failed in the other. They can both be refurbished (hopefully) so parts costs shouldn't be too bad. Labour is a killer though. Not an easy job Mad

I was quoted £867 for premium cover by Warrenty Direct, no repair limit blah blah blah so said yeh I'll have it. Then went through the garbage with their inspection company and engineer sent out. Only problem was he phoned 20 mins over his window to say he was over an hour away. Cancelled the cover, argued the toss for an hour to get inspection fee refunded. Don't you hate people who can't phone and say they are running late. Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

Ive just come off the phone to them, I asked for price of 3 year policy.
They gave a quote based on the following (broadly)

3 years cover
MOT failure included
emissions included
AC included
Airbags included
Wear and tear (with 100% new for old, i.e. no deduction for age)
no excess
max mileage over 3 years 12k per year (we only do about 8k in this car)
max overall mileage 130k (we have 99k on there now)

price quoted £1900-00 (and a few quid)

Dearer than Warrantywise but sounds like comprehensive policy?

Hes calling me back this afternoon for a yay or nay, what do peeps think?

Hi Wilpert

Sounds reasonable to me, I have just taken out a WD policy for £800 with the same level of cover plus the fuel system cover thrown in. This was only for a year. This is their extra care policy, which also covers all the suspension. The rep did confess to me that most of their claims on the RRS where suspension related.
What surprised me is there is no actual fixed price, everything is negotiable. One rep quoted me a much higher price and told me it was the lowest they could go. I waited a few days and then rang them back again, spoke to another rep who knocked £170 of the price, without any negotiation. I probably could have gotten the policy even cheaper but as my 3 month warranty i got with the car was running out, I had to "pull the trigger" at some point
My car is a 58 reg 2.7HSE.

Cannon-fodder Very Happy

Hello Cannon fodder,
Thanks for the reply.
Im still awaiting a call back from WD but the level of cover does seem pretty good.
I will see if they will do 10% off of the price offered and check if it in includes suspension, as this sounds like an important inclusion.

I got WD down to £645 ish for 13 months cover. I've used them once for a new intercooler and they paid up- which was around half the price of the policy. They're not quick though- had to wait about a month for the money. They started at £800 for less cover so you really have to make them work for your business.

The other good thing with WD is the claim limit is the value of the car, and you can ask them to take the cap off the labour price limit, meaning you could use a main dealer.

Do they offer an incentive for recommendations ie extra months cover for both parties or maybe a % off. Maybe you could team up with others who have already taken a policy out and both benefit... just a thought MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys
