Caravan advice ( this should be fun)

Hi all, I'm looking at two today, a ace celebration 590 6berth ta and a ace aristocrat 490 5 berth, been looking for a couple of weeks and we like the ace models, we have two bread snappers 3and 5, not too sure on the bunk bed options on the celebration but like the dianette options on the aristocrat, has anyone had either of these vans.

All advice and Censored taking welcome

Tony

Not ones that I'm familiar with,

The bunks in the first look ok, though depends on space for the kids now and as they grow for size, nice to have end bathroom too as a space for the misses to get dressed when the kids are running around

Side dinette is good too, when dad wants to sleep off the hang over and kids want breakfast, so you have a table without the need to put the front bed away

The other caravan looks good too, as the kids have their space to the rear, which could be put away to eat on, beds will be easier to get into as they grow but not as much fun as bunk beds and been 3&5 size won't be a issue for a few years

If it was me, I would look at van 1 but something to consider is storage space, a family of four away for a week you may find wardrobe space is very limited, I have been there myself and ended changing my single axles Sterling Europa 540 to a Swift Challanger Sport 636 and wardrobe space doubled or more

Thanks for that, my concern with van 1 is the front panel below/around the windows seems to have suffered some sort of heat damage, there are no burn marks, the panel is creased/ out of shape and the front window has sort of sunken in, it's nothing drastic as such and could be repaired easily enough as its for sale at a realy good price.

It comes with nothing though as its a trader and we would have to buy bottles security stuff and all other gubbins to get us going.

Van 2 comes with everything and is basically hitch up and go.

It seems to be the size and space issue more than anything, van1 would be the preferred option due to space etc but the costs of awnings, bottles and all other bits is a bit off putting, he has offered us a starter pack and 6 months warrenty.

I'm on my summer tour Cool

Half way through so far and currently in Somerset - excellent steak Simon Thumbs Up

My advice on buying used is get it checked out for damp, gas and electrics before you buy - a member on www.caravantalk.co.uk bought one and it burst into flames first trip due to fault with fridge and could of been fatal. Smoke alarm and carbon dioxide detector first things to fit Shocked

My kids are too old to come now but we used to have 2 in singles and 1 in bunk. Invest in a big awning to make a playroom on or you'll be driven mad Laughing

I got free bottles from local garage that sells BP/macgas Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Having just returned from holiday at a Eurocamp site in France, there were lots of huge tents and large caravans with awnings etc on display.

By far the most impressive was the Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite which turned up attached to the back of a Nissan Navara! Bow down
