285/45/20 anyone?

Planning to upgrade the current 275/40/20 to a 45 profile to help improve ride and fill the arches.

Also considered getting more rubber on the road. Pro's and con's of 285 in this combination? Anyone currently riding on this?[/b] 07 TDV8 + BAS map

I'm running 45 profile grabber A/T. It is noticeably more comfortable than the 40s. You also have the plus that my wife can't curb the wheels anymore! Wink

Run them now for 20000 miles and the tyres still look new, they last forever those A/Ts.

did you consider UHP's at all instead of AT?
keen to know the difference and which is more suited if you're one of those 99% road drivers! think last time i looked a this AT were more all-terrain whereas UHP were for road? 07 TDV8 + BAS map

Well the UHPs are a road tyre the same as any other. The A/T are 80/20 so they are compromised slightly on the road, but the tread is deep and they last forever, plus they're epic off road. I know it sounds stupid but a boggy field is one of the most difficult surfaces to traverse in a heavy 4x4 and they do the job perfectly.

I only really go off road a bit during the shooting season and they pay for themselves in a couple of trips. During the summer, ie. when it's dry, you can get away with any tyre for off-roading.

Thanks mate
Anyone else experience with 285's long term? Any adverse effects on components? Premature wear etc... 07 TDV8 + BAS map
