Oman 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

Whatever the procedure it still takes the p155...

I use Sygic Navigation on my Xperia Ultra, way better than anything LR offer, and for the World map option it cost me USD70.00 with a 40% discount. This includes a lifetime free updates...

Time involved was less than 30 minutes and I can now download maps from any country I visit as required to my phone when I need them.

How LR can charge GBP169 for I presume a European Map update is beyond me. Not to mention the 2 hours labour cost Shocked

After paying so much for a luxury brand to be asked to bend over and pull your trousers down for an update beggars belief....

£99 or £139 sounds like labour charge only. The NavTeq map license / download is £169 retail. If a dealer can do it for less it sounds funky. Welcome but funky. The typical misconception is "map upgrade costs £169" but fail to account for labour. Most service departments don't have a clue on this subject, I have found, and prefer to avoid the work. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

No it isn't, I am not stupid

Please accept my apologies, it was not my intention to imply there was any stupidity here on this forum.

There is, however, some stupidity when it comes to Land Rover dealers for 10MY and 11MY sat nav upgrades as this I my personal experience so far:

* Beadles Sidcup - sent email offering £169 upgrade, then said labour would have to be added, and then said they could not execute on it at all
* Hadley Green Barnet - did not know how to quote for it let alone do it
* North One, Archway - quoted £414 and then said "there is no upgrade available" so could not do the work

If Carrs in Truro do it for £99+VAT then it's worth a trip over there one quiet Monday - but has anyone actually had the upgrade and been charged such a low amount?

Has anyone actually had a successful upgrade on a 10MY or 11MY RSS at any price at any dealer? If so please name the dealer so I can use them instead of the hopeless ones around here. Thanks L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I have an update!

* 2014-2015 Sat Nav maps are now available for 2010 MY and 2011 MY RRS ("HDD Generation 1")
* Beadles in Sidcup will do them for £169, incl. software, labour and VAT
* North One in Archway will do them for £250, incl. software, labour and VAT

This is Happy Days for me - especially as I am driving to Italy next Thursday. Thumbs Up

I'll let you know if there are any notable benefits apart from the obvious after I get mine upgraded next week. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Doesn't anybody know how to access their 2010-2011 RRS hard drive to download/upload the software? So we could spread the "good word" amongst us in this forum.

The connexion is probably Firewire.

I'm giving up this crappy satnav. Hooked up my 10" Asus tablet, with the Sygic software (lifetime license less than $50 with indefinite map upgrades).

A world apart from RR's standard equipment. RRS SC 2011 for fun
Mercedes 500 SE for Sundays
Mercedes 300 E for Mondays
Volkswagen Golf for wife and dogs
