They've told me it will be 53 bhp (original is 268) more Horse Power and 191 nm more Torque (original 640)

He said it would be like driving a supercharged......

Yes that's what Superchip told me, what I actually got was an extra 32 bhp and 100 nm of torque. and before anybody asks they were the figures achieved on Superchips own rolling road/dyno at there main headquarters in Buckingham.

The car only had 25k on the clock and a full diagnostic check prior to remap and had no shown or recorded faults.

The figures of 53bhp and 191nm are potential figures, lf you want to know what you actually got get it put on a dyno afterwards.

I have to say though it is still worth having it done.

Cheers
Col

I bought a Superchips bluefin for my TDV8 and it made an impressive difference. I have run this for 25k miles now without issue. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!

Ok so got it done

The big lag pulling away from a standing position is gone. When I put my foot down the power is there much quicker and much smoother.

Definitely glad I did it and had big smile on my face as I pulled away...... Very Happy

Will check if it affects my average mpg of 19.4! Big Cry

Thumbs Up I don't think you will see a big uplift in your mpg but if it's any help I get 22.2mpg What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!

Sorry to open up an old thread, but we had a very similar discussion on the focus rs forum a year or two ago. The figures superchips quote are the peak differences across the range - not the max figures so there will always be a difference between what you see on the rolling road and what is quoted. I've run their software on a number of cars and never had an issue. That said, with a complex beast like the v8, I suspect I would prefer the option of a customised map. What are everyone's thoughts on these guys for the rrs?

i have ran Blufin Superchips previously and i had better power, but even driving like Miss Daisy's chauffeur it showed no increase in mpg

blufin, is worth it as at least you can remove when its heading to a dealer, so they don't notice the increased power

Yes, that's what I have liked about it from my other cars. I'm thinking about it already, but I don't want to give rise to any more issues than I'll likely have already. I've got my car going into rover tune for a check up when I get back from hols, so will think about it after that.
