How many miles are you planing on doing? Less than 5k then supercharged. More than that then the tdv8.

Supercharged will average between 11 and 15mpg dependant on how you use it.

I don't believe timing chains need replacing.

Wales 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zambezi Silver

Hi Bungleaio i currently do about 800 miles a month however without insurance and tax i get £280 a month for diesel/petrol allowance but within the next few months when we move my mileage will drop down to about 300 a month.

is there anything to look out for regarding the 2 models the 3.6 diesel and petrol when buying ??

regards

jenko

Hi,
I am in the same boat as you. I do about 5 miles a day and including weekend trips would not average more than 300 miles a month. Petrol is the one to go for as I have had diesel cars which started developing dpf problems and I am having to do 30-40 mile trip every other week just to get it cleared. My budget is £30000 and looking for a supercharged 2010 onwards under 30,000 miles.
Kind regards

5 miles a day? That means the oil will barely ever get warm. That's likely to result in issues fairly soon. If nothing else, you're likely to shaft the battery and / or alternator fairly quickly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

i would rather pay for a battery and alternator than having the 3.6tdv8 with engine/ turbo worries
