Bye bye RRS……….

I finally made a decision and bought a new car yesterday. I have driven myself (and Mrs Bradders) beyond the edge of reason over the last few months and in the end head won over heart, and I pick up an ex-BMW Management 320d X Drive, M Sport Touring next weekend. The 8 speed auto sport 'box is quite amazing and with the M Sport plus pack it has decent performance and handling.

I have to say the TDV8 will be a very hard act indeed, to follow but needs must and I am looking forward to running a car with a manufacturers warranty and low running costs for the next few years. Work is taking me out of town more and more these days and the junior Bradders are now 300 miles north and 200 miles south of Leeds !

Can me and Beany have a sub-forum ? Rolling with laughter

Piccies next week…….. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

The touring has a decent boot. Maybe a little deeper that the RRS but shallow by comparison. I think its 495l seats up and 1500l down. Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

Jings, this is getting serious with everyone defecting, but I will soon have the same predicament. I will admit I have recently been playing with the BMW configurator, looking at X4s and 5 series tourings! As mine is a company car I will be looking at changing at the beginning of next year, and frankly since LR have deleated the SE from the new Sport, I am not willing to shell out £60-70k on an HSE. I would happily keep the Sport longer, but am not happy paying £6k a year in personal tax for what is soon to be a 5 year old car worth £20k! Trouble is, the car has been faultless and it really has been the best car I have owned, and I know that whatever I will replace it with, will seem like a downgrade!

Enjoy your 3 series anyway, and don't be a stranger!

Cheers

bit of a change in size, never mine the brand

But after seeing a forum members X3 in a post the other week, LR are so far behind in tech, i might have to have a look myslef.

Their satnav, told them which lane was closed and the reasons been a fire, Mt satnav tells me the road is either clear and its at a stand still, or vis a versa

Still loving life with the X3 - no issues whatsoever however I was travelling down the M6 yesterday and the following message appeared on the instrument cluster (note - excuse the dust inside she is being cleaned this weekend)

What the ruddy hell is this I was wondering, then I noticed the satnav screen had changed to this:-

How cool is that? Not only does it know that there is a problem but to also tell you what the problem is... I'm pretty sure my old FL2 had route diversion but it never gave you this much information. The coloured lines are a brilliant idea and update constantly, red means very slow / stationary traffic, yellow is slow traffic and white slowish traffic - its a great feature that helps identify if an alternative route is worth trying as you can see if those routes are also heavy or not.

When I reached the incident this is what I saw

Incidentally anyone notice the mpg on the first photo, this is almost a regular occurence now

Cheers NP - Ive got the same engine in the 320d as that X3 but the car's a whole lot lighter so 50mpg should be easily achieved. Got the BMW professional satnav too……….. Whistle FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Ady I'm loving the B.Ed at the moment and still got 2 years warranty left with the option to extend for 2 years at the top level so not planning to change for some time Cool

Unfortunately it's the dealer experiences and lack of LRCS that may finish my LR loyalty Sad

If Bradders and BC experience is good I may follow them......
