Rob - if you're happy with your change that's great Bow down

Maybe it's just me but normally when I drive a new model I have to buy it I haven't felt like this with the new RRS - I did with the D2, FL2, MY10 RRS and MY13 RRS - with each I saw the improvements instantly Confused

Anyway I'm happy with my B.Ed especially now I finally have working sub and lumbar so I won't be rushing to fork out £25k+ to change - to me it's not that big an improvement Wink Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Hi muddy can't disagree with your reasoning , just saying IMO the rrs2 is a better car whether as you say at this moment is it 25k better on that basis probably not , rob Cool 2014/5 rr sport hse, Marianna black , silver roof , silver door mirror caps , privacy , deployable tow bar

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

I have to agree with Muddy on this one . It's great that everyone does not like the same thing , the new sport is definitely lighter and definitely quicker and more economical and much more I expect . For me though the fact that it doesn't feel as heavy makes it feel less like a Range Rover and more like an Evouge ( which to me feels nothing like a Range Rover ) . I have had Range Rovers since the late 80s and just love the heavy solid feel of them.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Despite being offered one for a test drive on numerous occasions, even been offered one for the day, i have declined everytime. I just arn't keen on the shape of it. Rear end looks like they forgot to finish it off and decided to stick an evoque rear end on. Might explain the panel gap. Shocked The hike in price to me is a step too far. Priced an equivalent specced vehicle to mine and it came out at 74K Whistle Its obvious JLR intrests are more focussed on export rather than the Uk. As been mentioned in other topics, the Uk is a very small market for JLR.
I am very happy with my current sport and see no reason to change it. Infact, if i was offered a RRS2 as a straight swap for mine, i'd decline.

RRS2 is actually closer to the Range "Real Thing" Rover as it shares the same platform.

Even though I still prefer the look of RRS1 over RRS2 (purely a personal thing), I think in general HSE Dynamic RRS2 is a better vehicle than HSE RRS1. This is inspite of it having the same gearbox and same engine (talking about 3.0 SDV6 variant) tweaked to get 40 or so more BHP as MY12+ RRS1 (to quote a dealer).

However, I am also in the same camp that thinks the improvements don't reflect the price difference between RRS2 and last of RRS1.

Have driven the new FFRR vogue and vogue se and the last of old FFRR vogue - I was blown away and saw the improvements instantly. I had the same feeling driving a MY13 after a MY10 but just not feeling it with RRS2 Sad

The interiors of the new FFRR and RRS are too similar IMHO and they are almost same size too so hard to see how the prices stack up other than the badges Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Sorry, but I still think the old Sport is a pimped out Discovery. Whistle

Like the Evoque, it doesn't look or feel like a Range Rover, the new one does. The new one is also much better looking, the old Sport is dated whilst the new one matches the new generation of LRs. The RRS2 is so much more upmarket aswell, I have to say the old one didn't feel like it was a Range Rover and certainly wasn't worth the price IMO. The new one is much classier and it is definitely worth the extra cash. Cool Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

It's great that you feel it's worth the price tag. Your view on your money and your car should be the most important opinion to you Thumbs Up

That's because it is - and that's not a bad thing if you use your 4x4 as a 4x4 rather than as a Chelsea Tractor Laughing

I like the look of the RRS2 - except the silly "Max Power" bonnet not-vents. Rolling Eyes 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Guys chill out. We are all RRS owners ,irrespective of whether we have an old or new model. Very Happy

At end of the day no car suits everyone, and we should all respect everyone's choices.I'm not exactly a fan of the new model but i can see why people would go for one Thumbs Up

I'm happy with my 'Pimped out Discovery' hence why i'm on my second one. Laughing Although i'm finding it difficult staying away from the new FFRR, if only i had the cash Big Cry 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

To be honest, they are so different they can't really be compared, I'm surprised Land Rover didn't change the name! Shocked Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

These photos (despite understanding the use of special effects) changed my very strong negative views about the looks of RRS2 and I realised it looks Cool in the right colour. Just not as good as RRS1 though.
