looked through the manual identified that I need to purchase Castrol edge professional c1 5w-30 (SAE 5w-30 WSS-M"C934-B) Call LR dealership to confirm oil type, they confirmed that I needed Castrol edge professional c1 5w-30. Went to Halfords and a few other place's can't find any Castrol Castrol edge professional c1 5w-30. Called the LR dealership and spoke to somebody else they informed me to try mobil 1 ESP formula, before I paid for it I check it out it was for VW TDI wrong oil recommended, dealership does not sell any as they buy in large tanks. Help what is the correct oil type for MY10 RRSport.

As I have found I don't need to top up oil levels, due to not checking correctly in the first place. Process to check correctly. After a drive leave the RRSPORT for about 30mins very important, then check via the dash if it needs topping up. It will actually tell you how much to top up if required. Great stuff had the Range for 6 months and still learning.

After service on my previous MY10 RRS dealer left this in boot for me

you got lucky, i bought one from the dealership for £24.00 and left it in the boot. Must say so far so good done 6k on the range oil is still at max.

can't connect to the link, from my awareness the castrol professional 5w30 c1 can only be bought from the dealership, they only sell 1 litre bottles as top up's.

edge professional 5w30 is the correct c1 for DPF non DPF A5

As I had time on my hands today sitting in my office I gave LR customer services a call gave them my VIN asked them if my RRsport had a DPF fitted or not they came back and no DPF fitted. It's a MY2010 face lift model, therefore LR dealership sold me the wrong oil.

Therefore conclusion is:

DPF fitted=castrol edge professional C1 5w30

No DPF fitted= castrol edge professional A5 5w30
