Just a quicky I turned on the recycle on the climate control system the other day to stop the fumes as I was stuck in traffic, after about 15mins it turned it self off is this right?

I have owned many cars with Climate Control and on all of them if you turn recycle on it stays on until you turn it off.

Yes, mine does this. It's infuriating!

I complained to LR back in the day and there was nothing they could do. May be worth asking again incase there is some hidden configuration setting in the service menu somewhere or something, but I doubt it.

The other annoying "feature" is Active Dynamics turning itself off if you leave the vehicle for random unspecified amounts of time. Why can't it just stay on, how hard is that?? I think that recycle is programed that way as no fresh air is entering the vehicle if all windows are up.
How long will you last with a car full of people and no fresh air! I don't know the answer?

One human at rest blows out enough CO2 to suffocate themselves within 24 hours if in a sealed container of 1,000 cubic feet. At moderate activity levels you could half that.

Let's assume low activity - this equates to 1.44 minutes per cubic foot. And let's assume the car holds 90 cubic feet of normal air. That would give you about 2 hours. So four adults and you're talking 30 mins, or just 15 mins if they're jiggling about.

This is why Land Rover auto-cancels recirculation and leaves big gaps between door panels - it's a life saver. They should include this in the brochure.

Thanks, I new the problem but not the detail!
Double seals on doors limit that avenue of ventilation though, sealed that way to keep out Aussie dust!

Press and hold the button for 3 seconds and it will overide the auto switch-off...at least I think that's what it does!

I tried this in between stops yesterday on our road trip de la France and managed 2 hours on recycled air... And then passed out. No, just kidding! 2 hours on and no ill effects and no smelly continental lorry waff waff. the wife did pass out but she blamed that on the early start and my music selection, not on CO2 poisoning. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Is there anyone from Land Rover looking at these posts who might be able to give us answers on questions like this?

I'm interested to know why it isn't mentioned in the handbook and also, when circulation is forced, which parts of the climate control are still automatic and which aren't.

On a complete sidenote, does anyone know what the sticker on the inside of the fuel flap means - there is a picture of a pipette or something with 500km (I thnk) printed on it. Any ideas?

It means 'check the engine oil every 500 miles' - at least that's how I have always interpreted it. But my TDV8 seems to use little or no oil so its a bit over the top. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
