Greased Lightning Showroom Shine - any good?

I have got involved in a thread on a caravan forum regarding washing without water - the thought of all the dirt and grit trapped between my lovely paintwork and a cloth is making me shake with fear Shocked

The local hand wash only did mine once and it was full of scratches after mainly because they dipped the sponge in the soap bucket approx twice for the whole car and stood on the wheels to do the roof scratching the wheel arches Big Cry

So am I a dinosaur who needs to come into the current century? Is it any good? Should I give it a try or carry on spending hours rinsing off as much grit as possible before using buckets of soapy water and rinsing my sponge each time before it goes back near the bodywork to ensure no grit scratches Embarassed

The convenience of no water wash particularly when in the caravan sounds too good to be true Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Posters are suggesting you can wash a dirty car or caravan with this and it wont scratch - I just find this unbelievable Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

If you watch the promotional Video you will see them blow cement dust on a Aston Martin and it's simply sprayed on and wiped off to a professional detailer finish

I call BULL Censored

I use this stuff regularly, on my caravan, it cleans and polishes it without issue and makes blacks streaks disappear

I have used it on the windows too without any hazing

On my car, even the wife's car I wouldn't use it with a barge
Pole without washing and drying he car normally first

Reading the link you posted Nick people claim it is safe to use on a dirty car but like you I'm still worried about trying it Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

For a wax it's not bad but I wouldn't use it directly onto dirty paintwork. Particularly not if you care about swirls!

Snow foam and 2 bucket method for me every time.

I'm using Optimum No Rinse (ONR) at the moment. I use it with the 2 buckets with grit guards, Dodo juice Supernatural sponge & dodo juice Orange plush drying towel with good results. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I use this on the windows at home and the plastic frames. I also use it on the shower screen in the bathroom. Its a good water repellent. Ive used it on the wifes clean car as a wax, its not that bad, but i don't think its as good as they claim it is on dirty cars. I would like to see a bright light shon on a car, after they have used it, and see how many swirl marks it has caused. Whistle

I like the look of that ONR stuff. Not quite waterless and gets great reviews over on DW. Might have to give it a go. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
