I came across your excellent forum after searching for info on my failing TDV8..in this case fitted to my Vogue (apologies to all you RRS'ers). My tale is IDENTICAL to RRS member Simple1.....Soft 'pop', turbo sucked into the near-side bank,oil gushes out like a fountain, it lives no more.
Unlike Simple1, the financial outcome has not been as satisfactory.

I have asked JLR to consider a contribution towards the cost, the car is 71k and fully historied, no expense spared and with the last service and EGR valves done at the main dealer only in March 2014. Because the engine has already been removed, they wont consider even inspecting it. I'm stuck with having to fit a genuine JLR engine to my car AND pick up the bill. This is my 4th Vogue, and I've spent well into six figures on their cars over the last 2 decades. Not impressed with you JLR. Any members with advice for me greatly and welcomed and deeply heart-felt.
