Miltek Exhaust - Name and shame

My sport has previously had the rear silencer boxes removed, and straight sections let in to replace them. For various reasons, I need to replace them, and quite like to sound of the straight through pipes, so set about finding a supplier of the rear sections.

I used to do quite a lot of playing with both VWs and BMWs as well as mucking about with Land Rovers, so one of my initial ports of call was Miltek - generally a known for supplying good kit.

They appeared to do a sectional system, with oval tailpipes, included in which were rear silencer replacement pipes.

Great, thought I, and ordered the pipes via one of their agents.

This was in May, and I was told 3 weeks lead time. After 3 weeks I rang the agent, who duely rang Miltek, to be told that they had delayed manufacture for another 3 weeks due to not getting enough orders - they would however definitely be made in this run though. 3 Weeks or so later (today) I spoke the the agent again, only to be told that on querying Miltek, they had been delayed again, and would quite likely be delayed further.

Thing 1 - The agent was not informed of the delays, and had to chase miltek.

Thing 2 - Both the agent and I had been assured they would be made on the next run, only to be delayed again. They could give no assurances that my order would actually be fulfilled - despite paying a deposit.

Thing 3 - When I suggested I would take my order elsewhere their response was basically to do so, as they aren't interested.

So, Now I have a car short of an exhaust, and a supplier not interested in supplying one - despite still advertising it as available on their website, and to their agents.

Given their distinct lack of customer service, I certainly wont be going to miltek for future projects, and I don't suggest anyone else does.

However, Can anyone suggest a supplier for rear silencer replacement sections for a tdv8?

Thanks

This will be no good to you but I've just had a tony banks custom made exhaust fitted to my tdv8, both box's taken out, two 3.5" tail pipes fitted for £220 and sounds very nice too!!

They joined at either side of the spare wheel and I took the old ones so it can be returned to standard.

Power flow offer a similar service, also seach eBay as top gear do them too.

Have you spoken to Miltek yourself or just their agent? I'd be tempted to speak with them directly just in case it's the agent that's messed up and is blaming them to cover for it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the recomendations chaps - I am working my way through them Smile

Not spoken to Miltek direct, but I have no reason to suspect the agents. They are a reasonably well known company, that I have dealt with in the past, so have no reason to muck me about.

Cheers
