Sudden, stupid, suspension problem

This morning went to my car, as I climbed in I had a feeling that something was not right, it seemed low even if the day before I did not put it in access mode.

Started the car, as I moved I could feel it being on the stops, then got the messages "extended mode", then "slow rise", after few hundred meters "suspension fault, drive slower than 50 Km/h" and the red suspension light.

Drove to the dealer, suspecting a compressor problem, same as the dealer first thought.

They told me the that the compressor checked out ok but there was a leak somewhere.

Bingo, it immediately clicked, went to the shop floor and told them to check the pipe behind the front left fender liner, next to the FBH. And there it was.

Background, couple of month ago I had a body shop replace the front bumper, left wing and liner.

This morning I decided to exercise the FBH with the Danhag system, not used since winter.

Perfect storm!

When they replaced the liner, they did not fix properly the suspension pipe, it was resting against the FBH exhaust, when I started the FBH it just melted.

Glad I did it today and not have it happen this coming winter, with the FBH starting automatically, maybe somewhere cold and far from the dealer

The dealer is now taking it up with the body shop, to work out a refund. '08 RRS TDV8

Good result in the end - well done for figuring it out before an expensive round of fault tracing by the dealer. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Well, been to the dealer today.

The body shop picked up the tab, no issues.
