My DRL Installation 2010 RRS

Hi All,
After purchasing my 2010 Range Rover Sport just a couple of months ago I decided to install DRL’s, reading posts on various forums it seemed you had to have a delay after turning off the ignition. This was ok but not what I wanted, after more digging around and experimenting I found a NON delayed 12 volt feed in front of the radiator. I believe it’s for vehicles with Adaptive Cruise. This allowed me to have a pure on with ignition and off with ignition DRL situation, I decided to take a chance and have a go. DRL kits have a very low draw so I was not worried but be sure to use the supplied fuse and holder. Below are photos to help you understand.
Now for the kit, I wanted a well-constructed lamp with protected loom and relay, I looked at various websites and eventually found this company.

I did call before purchasing to ask a few questions and found them very helpful.
This is the DRL I decided on and am very happy with; it’s very bright in sunny conditions.

The DRL’s have been fitted for a couple of weeks with no problem’s or dash errors.
If you decide to use my instructions I accept no liability so proceed at your own risk.
Good Luck

Thanks for all your comments, to answer a the dimming question, no they don't but the supplier is looking into a dimming version. I would like that option and would change the controller when is available.

And of course Bali Blue is beautiful.

Amazing! Would the cruise control sensor (bumper radar thing) get in the way if I done this on mine?

I don't have the sensor so wouldn't like to say. Its the only 12v off with the ignition I could find.

Another option for ignition only live is to use a piggy back connector on the fuel pump fuse

Update to this instillation,

These lamps are NOT dimable, I tried a couple of different relays which didn't power the lamps correctly.

Got to say the lamps are working fine after a few months use and still very bright in the day.

very nice job. I must admit I looked at this post for reference when installing mine (work in progress). I don't have the 12v feed by the radiator, so I did what Paulcp suggested and piggy backed the fuel pump fuse. Many thanks! Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

@ tanloverluke, if you can take a photo of the relay in question upload it so others can see. It will help people with less knowledge.

Also lets see a photo of your motor with DRL's Thumbs Up
