rear differential replacement

Hi - does anyone know if the rear diff. replacement can be done DIY, or does it require going to the stealers?

Mine was done at the stealers, but I don't know your DIY capabilities. Why not compromise and go to an Indy? Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
