hi all, ive just completed on my house purchase and im very happy with it except for one problem.

we waited 5 monthe to get this house after discovering there was a matrimonial (nasty one aswell) going on, anyway mr and mrs split 6 years ago then she came out of the woodwork when the house went up for sale, to cut the story short there was a AGA fitted in the house which became a bone of contention as she wanted it, so between both vendors and me and mrs monty we all agreed to her removing the AGA at her cost and making good the kitchen at her, myself and mrs monty have called her to arrange the required works to the kitchen 3 times but she did not return our calls, instead she called the police and accused us of intimidation and threatening behaviour towards her, we left messages on her answer phone which the police have listened to and agreed with ourselves that there is nothing bad in them, she has indicated to the police that she will only cover the cost of the repairs if it is arranged through solicitors( another bill).

we have it in writing that she would make good the repairs at her cost but is now acting the

Agree with Hoppy but get some proper advice from CAB or solicitor

Sorry to say this sounds like Solicitor job - they should of kept retention back to protect against this - if not I would of thought you have a valid claim for partial refund or damages. Contract should of covered this scenario IMHO
