Improve Harman Kardon system

I got my 2010 RRS this morning and i love it. everything about it is amazing. however the standard Harman Kardon is pretty pants compared to the meridian system in my old Evoque.

My qu's are;
1) Do I have a sub? I can hardly hear it.
2) If i don't can i fit a Harman Kardon Sub is all the wiring in place?
3) can i retro upgrade to Logic 7? There appears to be lots of bits for sale on ebay.
4) has anybody else done this?

My 2011 has a sub in the lower tailgate as standard with the standard HK stereo.
Have you turned up the sub in the touchscreen?
Mine is turned up to max but not a particularly strong sub base.

Don't bother upgrading to Logic7. It's pants. You'll get a better sound spending the money on aftermarket components.

Thanks all for your responses.

How hard and expensive is it to install aftermarket components? Does the amp need replacing or is the standard one (under drivers seat?) ok to cope with aftermarket components?

I replaced my system with aftermarket.

The thread is here with pictures and explaination as to what was replaced and why.

I'm very happy with it, it knocks spots off of the HK cack, and I just sold the HU for £400 which goes some way to pay for the new system.

Just need to sell the HK amp and maybe rip out the now defunct Sat Nav and sell that too...

Thanks tripplem

How will that work in the facelift model? All I want to do is improve the sound.

Can't see why not Bro.

Just go speak to a DECENT car audio installer and they should know what is possible and give you options.

Mine gave me the option to keep all the old functionality of the installed system (nav, 4x4 info etc) by relocating the HU in the boot and then adding a new system.

I was happy to just get rid of it. My concern after adding a much better amp and sub was that the speakers would let the sound down but the installer, correctly, said they were fine for the job. (I'm not the type to sit at supermarket car parks at night playing dub step Laughing )

He was right, and selling the removed parts can pay for a huge chunk of the new system.
